I wasn’t successful in my first attempt at the NCLEX. I was embarrassed and I felt like I let myself and my family down. I had some situational things occur the week of the NCLEX, but looking back I truly wasn’t prepared. I used UWorld, Kaplan, Mark K and nursing.com to ‘study’, but wasn’t honing in on content. I knew that this method wasn’t going to work when I went to take the NCLEX again so I sought out a tutor.
The key difference in me passing the NCLEX the second time vs. failing the first time is how I prepared and I’m truly grateful that I had the opportunity to work with Rhoda, Della and Courtney because without their support and the program they have, I wouldn’t be able to say that I, Meredith, am officially an RN!

This is a symbol use to celebrate passing a hard test like the NCLEX We use it to celebrate with our students

When I first started working with Rhoda I was skeptical that anyone could help me pass the Next Gen NCLEX. I was pretty depressed and anxious. Before we began she took the time to listen about my experience with the NCLEX. She asked questions that I didn't expect such as:

"How did you feel during the exam?"

"What was your pace?"

"What did you do the day off and before the exam?"

These questions all made me feel like she was really trying to get to the root of why I wasn't successful so we could work on it together. Rhoda talks about individualized test plans on her blog  link:

She then explained her experience with the NCLEX and why she went into helping others be successful. This helped establish a report that I never would've gotten with UWORLD, Nursing.com, or Kaplan. Shen then explained how the NCLEX works and made me take a quiz to see what my learning style is to lay the groundwork of how to study. I was not the best student because I let my inner saboteur get the best of me. However, she never gave up on me no matter how many times I said I couldn't do it. She was also honest with me in terms of my test date. If she thought I wasn't ready she would tell me. That probably saved me money on extra testing (even though I had to pay her to keep going, lol). In the end it was all worth it. Her assignments are rough in terms of reading and doing questions but she doesn't tiptoe around what needs to get done in order to pass. If something isn't working then she works with you to see what does. She made herself accessible. I knew if I texted her I would get a response. Probably the most helpful thing was doing questions during our sessions and talking things outload in real-time to figure out how to get the answer. That was probably the most invaluable time I got out of my work with Rhoda. I'll always be grateful for Rhoda and hope other students are as well.

Rewards and Referral program
be sure and ask about it!

First, I'm not sure where to begin with One on One NCLEX Tutoring, but Rhoda and her staff have helped me tremendously and have been a major part of not only my nursing journey, yet, helping me to conquer one of the biggest goals I had set for myself. My name is Breanna Clariett, and I am more than happy to share my story with future nurses and/or nursing students. I first graduated from IUPUI with a Bachelors in General Studies- School of Liberal Arts while pregnant with my first son, however; I knew that I dreamed of being a nurse since I was a young girl. I then wanted to pursue a nursing career so then became enrolled at Marian University and soon graduated from Marian University in December 2021. As I attended a review session, offered by my school, I felt as though I still could not fully grasp the concept of critically thinking to pass NCLEX boards. But, I did accept an offer at Community North on the Med Surg unit in January 2022. As I accepted the offer and was ecstatic to wear Nursing navy blue scrubs, as a Nursing Intern, we only had so many days to pass NCLEX. I attempted in March 2022 for the first time and had failed. I wanted to give up, but I had to remember my purpose as being a first time generation college student and having a three year old son at the time. So, I attempted again to pass my boards in June and then failed again. So, then I was devastated due to having to change my Nursing blue scrubs to gray scrubs, which showed to everyone in the hospital that I did not pass my boards while others in my cohort moved on to passing their boards. So, I failed, but I also found out I was pregnant in July 2022, so I had to remember my purpose and the impact I wanted to pass onto my children. I had remembered I met two other Registered Nurses who had phenomenal things to say about Rhoda. So, I finally reached out to Rhoda and completed a pre-assessment exam. I was advised at the time in November 2022 that I would need eight more weeks of studying to consider setting a NCLEX date. I was devastated because I just wanted to take boards and pass. With that being said, I was pregnant and faced many pregnancy complications, however I still continued to meet with Rhoda every week, and I was determined to pass my NCLEX- RN exam. I then was admitted to the hospital for two months and continued to meet with Rhoda weekly which was the best decision I ever made to help encourage me to go in and pass the biggest life changing exam of my life. Throughout my journey, despite wanting to quit many many times, Rhoda kept me going. Rhoda herself was an inspiration to me. She not only cared about me passing the exam, but built a strong bond with myself and my children. She also cared about my health weekly and was there anytime I needed her. There were many times I texted Rhoda several hours before our meeting time and asked to reschedule because of the negative thoughts of not being fully prepared, however Rhoda worked with my learning style and she also worked around my schedule and clarified any topics or concerns I had throughout our meeting. Despite not having confidence and not feeling prepared to take Boards, I scheduled my exam. I also remembered a previous person named Kora who met with a staff member from One on One Tutoring passed her NCLEX after meeting with this awesome company. Kora and I are currently employed in the same unit, and she advised me that she had gone through a similar situation. She also reminded me numerous times how she passed with the help of One on One Tutoring and having a change of mindset, scheduling the exam in a new environment, new City, with new people. On the day of the exam, I used several of Rhoda’s techniques She talks about her test strategies in her blog                   and could remember Rhoda having me to picture myself on the beach during difficult times throughout the exam. After meeting with Rhoda for nine months, I am ecstatic to announce I am officially a RN! Rhoda was able to help me build confidence and become fearful and then being able to critically think about questions on the NCLEX. Thank you so much to Rhoda and her staff, I was able to pass in 78 questions!!!!!!  Breanna 8/14/23

Why come to us?

We work to provide motivation, and personalized one on one tutoring to nursing students during nursing school school, and after school for the NCLEX test. We help provide some relief from the struggle and frustrations of nursing school. One struggle is not able to dissect questions. Another struggle is knowing the content. Another is knowing how to study. You did not develop good study habits in high school. Each student is given a plan for success developed with their input.
The process starts with a free consult in which questions are asked about the student’s testing and studying habits/concerns. Then an explanation of the next steps- an assessment test, analysis, and the success plan made just for that particular student.
After the plan is made, the student and I proceed to work on the plan. I am the accountability partner, encourager, and teacher.
The cost is dependent on the student's level of schooling. Nursing students in school are $35 per session or hour. In-person NCLEX students are $65 per session or per hour and $60 per online session.

Our Pledge!

In this time of unrest, One on One NCLEX Tutoring wants to say that we still stand by what we were taught when we were young, and in nursing school. Everyone is treated the same, regardless of race, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, etc. We have always held the belief that we are to do no harm, and as future nurses you will take the Nightingale Pledge. Nurses serve on the frontlines of their communities and are the last line of defense for the patients they advocate for.

At One On One NCLEX, we try to listen to all of our students and prospective students for their needs and address them. We will continue to serve as both a safe space and a center for education and continued learning. We will remain a place free from discrimination and harm; and will continue to support you, the nurses of tomorrow.
